Peace Through Nursing: Asianut Sobriety Seekers

A group of medical professionals provides education and resources to help people begin to think about their lives without alcohol. The the Asianut (meaning “Grace” in Ateso) site, is based in Soroti, Uganda. The nearest AA groups are 7 hours away, and Asianut programs help attendees become financially sustainable, continue moving toward sobriety and being of service to other suffering alcoholics.

Beverly Lyne is a nurse practitioner from Boulder who has worked tirelessly to benefit communities in Soroti, Uganda.

Mountain Forum awarded Beverly $1000 in grant funding towards her latest fundraising effort, “Peace through Nursing: Asianut Sobriety Seekers” to fund workshops to work towards reducing alcoholism and substance abuse.
